I turned in my thesis to my committee today, and after taking care of a few errands this morning, I find myself at loose ends after a pleasant afternoon nap. I have things to do, of course, things I want to do (most of them involve writing), but I thought I’d take a second and go over some of the cool things that have happened to me in the last month on the Internet. In no particular order:

• I wrote a 2300-word manifesto about large-scale Kickstarter projects, tweeted it at Robert Khoo (business director of Penny Arcade), and got tweeted back by him. (Spoiler: he liked it.)
• I joined Reddit, and Tim Schafer answered my question on his AMA.
• I bought and received Haruki Murakami’s latest novel, read half of it, liveblogged my thoughts as I read it, and wrote a preview for the Japan Times.
• I won a free pair of shoes because my old ones got ruined in a Boston snowstorm back in March.
• I’ve continued to write the Fantasy Blog Draft series for Ploughshares.
• I became an unstoppable Kickstarter tag-team with Richard Goodman and have raised over $4300 for Storyville, a new creative nonfiction collaboration with WWNO, the local NPR affiliate.
• Paulo Coelho answered my question when he took over the Random House Twitter feed.
• I backed nine Kickstarter projects, seven of which were funded/will go on to be funded. See my profile here.
• I won tickets to see Taj Mahal at the House of Blues.

I completed the last requirement for my graduate studies and finished teaching a freshman composition course as well. Not a bad month.
